Xanga Comic #49: Christmas blogging.
Oh yeah. I’m back. =) I’m experimenting with a new drawing style, so tell me what you think…it’s a little more freeform, but I don’t know if it’s more clear…so feedback please.
edit 12:40am> Yeah, the original text was in my handwriting…you can check it out here. In the meantime, I swapped it out with a new version with actual text.
In other news, I’ve completed my UC applications, and completed my school’s yearbook cover, and bought all of the Christmas presents that I’m going to give, and everything like that. So now I have time to do the stuff I love. Like this.

About the style: Even after you’ve replaced your handwriting with actual text, I still prefer the old version. Just seems tidier, higher quality…that might just be because we’re all used to the old one though. Hope this helps!

I don’t really see how this one is free form compared to the others *shrug* I like when you write the text on it’s own though.. It gives it a “home-y” feeling…
Like, it just seems like that’s how comics are suppose to be.. cause they are like that in newspapers and stuff *shrug*

It’s beyond cool in your handwriting; maybe if you made the handwriting a ptsize or two smaller? Just enough so it’s not as hard to read when the internet interprets it.

Yay… joe_x is back. Um, yeah the original version was blurry and hard to read. I don’t exactly know what you achieve by drawing the boxes by hand, but whatever… nothing lost or gained there, methinks.

the style is a lot more freeform…but a strustured composition is always nice…detail adds intrest while simplicity has that charm…i dunno i draw comics though but i cant find how to post them on my xanga…..i wish i could anywho, sweet deal….all these comics and such

(or joe_x). i think your handwriting is legible, but it’s just that your pen’s too thick (or felt tip pen.. or marker.. or whatever you use). you should probably stick to typing. by the way, it’s good to hear from you again ^^! i didn’t really think the joke in your comic was funny (it seemed a bit cliche, i guess), but i like how you tried to incorporate a Christmas-y feel to it. i’m sure a lot of people can relate to it, too, which is even better.
